A pair of immature great white sharks were tracked off North Carolina’s Outer Banks this week, according to Ocearch.
Manhattan, a 5-foot-3, 73-pound male, pinged off Buxton at 8:54 p.m. Tuesday, Ocearch’s online tracking map shows.
Hudson, a 5-foot-1, 67-pound male, pinged near Ocracoke, according to the map.
Ocearch tracks sharks worldwide by attaching transmitters to the animals’ dorsal fins.
When the fin breaks the water, the device sends a signal to a satellite, which then pings back an estimated location.
Ocearch tagged Hudson and Manhattan off Montauk, N.Y., last August.
